“I attribute almost

all of [the child's]

ability to excel to Sarah.”

“She had an assessment and saw what was leading to these behaviors and she hit the nail on the head. Sarah sat with [the child] and helped her to think backward to retrain the child's mind to be able to think instead of just acting on her emotions right away. It was a really, really cool thing to watch and learn from.”

What is Applied Behavioral Analysis? (ABA)

ABA isn’t therapy, it’s an actionable approach to changing unwanted behaviors—typically used to help families struggling with tricky child behavior. It combines science-backed strategies with real-world practicality, making behavior change simple, sustainable, and stress-free.

You know you need an ABA approach to parenting if you’re:

  • Struggling with making parenting changes that stick

  • Tired of receiving endless advice with no actionable steps toward progress

  • Overwhelmed and stressed because nothing you’ve tried seems to work

  • Seeking a better system that supports you right where you are, even with a demanding job and/or busy schedule

Hi, I’m Sarah Welsh, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst

A little bit about me: I’ve worked in early childhood education for over a decade! As the oldest of 12 siblings, it was an easy segue into adulthood and my career. I received a bachelor's degree in child and youth studies and a master’s degree in Education with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis from The Ohio State University.

Now a parent of a little one, I know from first-hand experience how difficult it is to change one's parenting approach. You can’t just jump to the top of the staircase. You need to take each step one at a time to make lasting changes. ABA methodology has improved my own and my clients' lives.

Raising a healthy, capable child is one of the hardest things a person can do, but it’s every parent’s dream. If you’re looking to implement positive, thoughtful parenting techniques but continue to run into challenges, let’s talk.

I help families break free from habits and routines that hold them back. I’ll meet you right where you are to create a personalized, evidence-based plan that leads to lasting change. No quick fixes, just real progress.

Parent ABA Therapy Training: Frequently Asked Questions

What does parent coaching do?

Parent coaching supports parents with child behavior concerns. It helps parents strengthen the relationship with their child and fosters an environment for success through guided support and clear, actionable parenting strategies.

What is the difference between parent coaching and therapy?

While therapy dives into the internal root or motivation of behavioral challenges, parent coaching takes an outside-in approach to behavior change that doesn’t rely on motivation alone. Parent coaching focuses on actionable parenting strategies you can take to make progress toward improving tricky child behaviors.

What is ABA in parent training?

ABA stands for "Applied Behavior Analysis." It refers to a proven therapeutic approach that educates parents on how to use evidence-based strategies to better manage their child's behavior.  The ABA method identifies and reinforces positive behaviors while decreasing negative ones, and it’s often used in situations where a child has a developmental disorder like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

What does an ABA coach do?

An Applied Behavior Analysis coach helps people learn new skills and modify unwanted behaviors. ABA coaches often work with parents and children, but the ABA method can be applied to help any person looking to make behavioral changes.

What does parent coaching look like?

Seeing a parent coach is like having a personal trainer for your parenting strategy. Parent coaching is personalized to your needs so you can learn the skills required to take on behavioral challenges as they arise, and improve your relationship with your child along the way.
